Bicycle Recycling

The Angus region dumps over 25,000kg of unwanted and unloved bikes per year!

At Angus Cycle Hub we work with the local authority to try and divert this waste from going to landfill and scrap. By recycling and refurbishing the regions bicycle waste we provide low cost access to bicycles.

You Can Help!

  • Unwanted bikes can be donated directly to our base at 33 Market Place, Arbroath or by taking them to any Recycling Centre in Angus. We currently collect from Arbroath, Carnoustie, Forfar, Kirriemuir, Monifieth and Montrose Recycling Centres. Please put your bikes in the containers provided or speak to a member of the recycling centre staff who will gladly assist you.

  • Unfortunately due to the volume of bikes we receive (upwards of 2000 a year!) we can't collect bikes on an individual basis.

  • We always welcome donations of good quality, good condition and branded bicycles. If you are unsure if its something we would accept, just give us a phone on 01241 873500.

  • When dropping off bikes at Recycling Centres please place your bike neatly into the shipping containers provided (where available). Bikes get easily damaged if they are thrown into the storage and it takes our team longer to uplift and repair a tangled pile of bikes!

  • Looking for a new bike? Shop ecologicaly and ethically by purchasing a recycled, second hand or refurbished bike! Drop into our store or visit our online shop to see whats available.

  • Volunteer with us! We regularly recruit volunteers who help with varying aspects of our projects. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering. Our fantastic volunteers regularly donate over 1500 hours of their time every year!
